The Grant Creek cemetery is located adjacent to highway U.S. 166 at the intersection with county road #8, west of Wauneta. The land record places it in Section - 3, Township - 34, Range - 9 of Jefferson Township. The map coordinates are 3706481N -09623594W. The cemetery was read in 1982 by Joe Leonard, in 1984 by G. Herman Guy. This update was made while photographing the tombstones in March 2006 by Don Tharp. Many of the inscriptions fail to reproduce by photograph and are visually difficult to read at the cemetery. We are greatly indebted to those that read the cemetery in previous years.

The entrance gate is in the extreme southwest corner of the cemetery and as one enters that gate and faces east, the first grave site on the south end of the first row is numbered 1-1. This pattern is followed throughout with the southern most grave site being number 1 in each subsequent row.
