MR. A. N. DALE - Submitted by Pat Eldredge

Funeral Services for A. N. Dale were held Monday, April 9th at 2:00 PM at the Cedar Vale Church of Christ with Brother Lucien Bagnetto officiating. Mr. Dale was born October 31, 1879 and died April 6, 1962. Pall-bearers were George Dale, Don Dale, Glen Rice, Otho Rice, Robert Duke and Basil Duke. Maurice Smith and O. B. Start sang "Whispering Hope" and "Beyond the Sunset." Burial was in Cedar Vale Cemetery.

MR. CHARLES DALE

CEDAR VALE - Charles L. Dale, 91, of Cedar Vale, died March 19, 2003 at the Cedar Vale Community Hospital.

Services were held Saturday, March 22, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. Interment was in the Cedar Vale Cemetery.

He was born March 27, 1911 in Cedar Vale and raised by his parents, Otis and Henrie (Pack) in rural Cedar Vale.

He had lived in rural Cedar Vale, where he was a farmer and rancher, his entire life. On Nov. 28, 1934, he married Susie Faye Bell in Cedar Vale. She preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 1999.

Charles was a member of the Baptist Church in Cedar Vale.

He is survived by a sister, Clara Bolton, Sedan, grandchildren, Steven Dale, Mulvane and Michael Dale, Wichita, great grandchildren, Tyler and Meridith.

He was preceded in death by his son, Duane Dale, and brother, Donald Dale, and sisters Fanny Oliver and Ruby Haines.

A memorial has been established with the Cedar Vale Community Hospital Activity Fund, 501 Cedar Street, Cedar Vale, KS 67024.

MR. DONALD W. DALE

Lifelong rancher/farmer, Donald William Dale, Sr. died August 17, 2001 in Midwest City, Oklahoma, following a short illness. He was born June 13, 1919 on the family farm south of Cedar Vale to Otis and Henri (Pack) Dale. On March 27, 1940, Don married the love of his life, Maxine Brashear, in Cedar Vale, Kansas.

Don spent his entire life on the family homestead south of Cedar Vale, except for a few short weeks he was in Oklahoma. He especially enjoyed riding his horses and watching the cattle graze in the pastures. He took great pleasure in spoiling not only his grandchildren, but also all the animals on the place with extra pets and generous portions of feed so that they would all be fat and sassy.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Maxine, of the home, a son, Donald W. Dale, Jr., Choctaw, OK, a daughter, Margaret Hudgins, Laverne, OK, a brother, Charles Dale, Cedar Vale, KS, sisters, Fannie Oliver and Clara Bolton, both of Sedan, KS, grandchildren, Carla Leggett, Jim Hudgins, Carolyn-Dale Mumma, Ronald Dale and Jennifer Holman, great grandchildren Kendra, Kandice, Jessica Leggett Tucker and Hannah Hudgins Erika Kohler Corey Mumma, Damien Holleman and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruby Haines and a great grandson, Billy Lcggett. Services were held Tuesday, August 21, 2001, at 10:30 am. at the Wheeler Funeral Home in Cedar Vale, Kansas. Interment was in the Cedar Vale Cemetery.

A memorial has been established with the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association SC-Kansas.

MRS. ANITA M. DANIELSON

POCATELLO, Idaho - Anita M. Danielson, of Pocatello, Idaho, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, on June 26, 1950, to William Branham, Sr. and Martha Ann (Spears) Branham.

She is survived by three sisters, Kathleen Garringer of Dayton, Ohio, Marilyn Hemperly of Pocatello, Idaho, Jenny Berry of Sedan; one brother, William Ira Branham, Jr., Denver, Colo.; her aunt and uncle, Doris and Ron Spears of Sedan, her aunt and uncle Anita and Elery Joy of Sedan; several other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Branham and Joe Branham.

Services will be at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept, 8, 2006, at Anointed Zion Tabernacle in Peru with Reverend Carlos Bailey and assistants officiating with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

MR. DANIEL E. DARBRO

Daniel E. “Danny” Darbro, age 72, of Oak Valley, Kansas, died at his home after a lengthy illness with emphysema and liver cancer on Wednesday, June 20, 2001.

Danny was born December 26, 1928 in Elk City, Kansas to Daniel E. and Naomi Louise (Davis) Darbro, Sr. He was raised and educated in Elk City where he graduated from Elk City High School in 1946. On December 8, 1951, Danny married Bonnie Lou Coats in Bentonville, Arkansas. Danny worked for Santa Fe Railroad as Foreman, Machine Operator and Trackman for 37 years, retiring on August 19, 1983. He was a member of Cathedral of Praise of Independence and the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees.

Danny is survived by his wife, Bonnie, of the home, two sons, Dana R. Darbro, Peru, KS and Justin R. Darbro, Oak Valley, KS, three brothers, Benny Darbro and Frank Darbro, both of Elk City, KS and Edward Darbro, Livingston, TX, two sisters, Mary Lou Persinger and Charlotte Smith, both of Emporia, KS and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Daniel E. “Danny” Darbro were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2001, at Cathedral of Praise in Independence. Pastor Don Burchett officiated. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas. The family has suggested a memorial to the Cathedral Teen’s Group “Dynasty” in care of Cathedral of Praise, Box 745, Independence, KS 67301. Memorials may be left with Webb & Rodrick Funeral Home in Independence, who was in charge of the arrangements.

MR. CHARLES DARNALL

Charles Benton Darnall, 79, a lifetime resident and businessman of Chautauqua, Kan., died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, in Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

He was born Dec. 7, 1922 in Chautauqua to Elim and Josephine (Fox) Darnall. He grew up and attended school in Chautauqua and graduated from Chautauqua High School. In 1940, he worked six months for the government in the 3-C’s, Civilian Conservation Corp., which was ran by the Army. During this time, he was in charge of the camps water supply working in Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas.

He was a veteran of World War II, enlisting in the United States Marine Corp. on Dec. 7, 1942, serving with the Fourth Marine Division in the Central Pacific Theatre, where he earned the rank of Sergeant. He was stationed in Hawaii and served in some of the most famous campaigns of World War II in the Marshall Islands, Sai Pan, Iwo Jima, Tinin and two islands in the Marianna Islands. He was one of a few who survived those campaigns out of his division. He was discharged on Nov. 19, 1945.

On May 25, 1946, he married his “Yellow Ribbon Girl” Geraldine “Jerry” Clawson in Chautauqua. Following their marriage, they made their home in Chautauqua. In 1957, they started their family by adopting four children.

Charlie owned and operated Darnall Brothers Oil Field Service, along with his wife, for 34 years before retiring from the oil field work in 1983. He continued to drill water wells until 1977, then worked part-time up until last year. Charlie and Jerry also owned and operated the West 80’s Campground with laundry and rental property from 1981-1995 before selling. Charlie also enjoyed raising cattle and farming.

He was a member of the Chautauqua Baptist Church in Chautauqua.

Survivors include his wife, Jerry, of the home, two daughters, Ruth Freeman, Sedan and Teresa Moore, Longmont, Colo., four sisters, Bette Ringle, Topeka, Ruby Alford, Peru, Twila Boyer, Palmyra, Mo. and Nedra Holroyd, Topeka, two brothers, Walter Darnall, Sedan and Omer Darnall, Mo., seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Chautauqua.

The family suggests memorials to the Chautauqua City Park. Contributions may be left with the funeral home. David W. Barnes Funeral Home of Sedan was in charge of the arrangements.

MRS. GERALDINE B. DARNALL

CHAUTAUQUA, Kan. Geraldine Beatrice “Jerry” Darnall, 81, of Chautauqua, Kan. died Sunday night Oct 24 2004, at her home in Chautauqua.

She was born Aug. 31, 1923 at Chautauqua, Kan. to George and Glenna (Anderson) Clawson, Sr. She grew up in Chautauqua, where she attended elementary school and graduated from Chautauqua High School. Following high school, she attended Pittsburg State University, where she received her degree in elementary education.

On May 25, 1946, she married Charles Benton Darnall at Chautauqua. Following their marriage, they made their home in Chautauqua. From 1943 to 1954 she taught school in Chautauqua County teaching at Harper Creek, Chautauqua, Elgin, Peru and Fowler schools. In 1957 they started their family by adopting four children.

Geraldine and Charlie owned and operated Darnall Brothers Oil Field Service in Chautauqua for 34 years, with Geraldine serving as office manager until thçy retired in 1983. They also owned West 80’s Camp Ground with laundry and rental property from 1981—1995 when they sold the business.

Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Freeman, Sedan, Kan. and Teresa Moore, Longmont, Colo., seven grandchildren, Shay Ledbetter, Kristan Waters, Korey Stein, Daytan Moore, Nikki Darnall, Travis Darnall and Derek Darnall; three great grandchildren, Loren Ledbetter, Charlie Ann Ledbetter, and Zach Darnall; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, George B. Clawson, Jr., and one sister, Mary Jane Garrett.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Chautauqua, Kan., with Rev. Dois Nix, Chaplain with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, officiating.

The family suggests memorials to the Chautauqua Senior Citizens and contributions may be left with the funeral home.

MR. OMER F. DARNALL

PERRY, Mo. — Graveside services for Omer Faye Darnall, 76, of Perry, Mo., were held Monday, March 10, 2003, at El Cado Cemetery south of Peru, Kan.

Mr. Darnall passed away on March 7, 2003 at Twain Haven Nursing Home in Perry. He was born Jan. 30, 1927 in Chautauqua, Kan., to Elim and Josephine Wright Fox Darnall. He was married to Lena Goodhart Trower on July 3, 1977 in Perry and she survives.

Other survivors include one son, Max Mehi, Kan., two stepsons, Dennis Trower, Perry and Richard Trower, Minn., one daughter, Mary Mehi, Iowa, two stepdaughters, Wanda Allen and Sherri Coose, Perry, Mo., one brother, Walter Darnall, Sedan, Kan., four sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Ringle and Nedra Ann Holroyd, both of Topeka, Kan., Ruby Lea Alford, Peru, Kan. and Twila J. Boyer, Palmyra; six grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two stepsons, Carl and Larry Trower; and four brothers, Charles Benton Darnall, Corner Darnall and two infant brothers.

Mr. Darnall was a retired roustabout from the oil drilling business. He had worked in Kansas and Oklahoma for many years. He had been in Perry for the last 24 years. He enjoyed rodeos, car racing, watching TV and listening to the scanner.

Members of his family will serve as pallbearers.

MRS. THELMA "RENNI" DARNALL

Thelma “Renni” Darnall, age 89, of Sedan died Monday, Jan. 1, 2007 at the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home in Sedan.

She was born April 11, 1917 in Elgin to Edward “Mack” and Mona M. “Wren” Boulanger. She attended and graduated from Elgin High School. She married Dean Birch. They later divorced. She married Joe Darnall on July 8, 1948. He preceded her in death in 1992.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, crocheting and taking care of her grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Clydean Littrell and her husband Dean of Chautauqua; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, two brothers and one sister.

Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 4, and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, Jan. 5, at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 5 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan with Earl Tresner officiating.

MRS. AVIS DAVIS - January 29, 1929 Word has been received of the death of Mrs. J. E. Davis, better known as Avis Heaver. Mrs. Davis graduated from S. H. S. in the class of ‘19 and after going to college taught in Sedan schools. Some members of the present freshmen class were her pupils in the second grade.

MR. EARL E. DAVIS

SEDAN, Kan. Earl Edward Davis, 95, of Sedan passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan.

He was born July 12, 1909 at Sedan, Kan. to Ben and Edith (Graham) Davis. He was the second oldest of nine children. He grew up in Sedan, where he attended school until the eighth grade.

In 1930, he married Ruth Naomi Sears in Sedan. Following their marriage, they made their home in Sedan, until moving to Wichita in 1951. In 1936, Mr. Davis lost his eyesight in a dynamite explosion in Chautauqua County.

Mr. Davis was a Bench Machinist for Beech Aircraft in Wichita, Kan. where he worked for 25 years before retiring in 1974. Mr. and Mrs. Davis also owned Davis Grocery in Sedan for a number of years.

Mr. and Mrs. Davis celebrated 74 years of marriage.

He was a member of Indian Hills Nazarene Church in Wichita, Kan.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of the home; one daughter, Rose Ann and her husband, J.C. Rainwater, Burbank, Okla.; three sisters; Ethel Henning, Arkansas City, Kan.; Letha Manley, Edna, Kan.; and Virginia Lawrence, Cedar Vale, Kan.; three granddaughters, Deanna Smethers, Ponca City, Okla.; Shelly Tate, Bartlesville, Okla.; and Suzane Milner, Johnson City, Tenn., one great granddaughter, two great grandsons, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at Greenwood Cemetery east of Sedan with Rev. Charles Klassen of the First Baptist Church officiating.

MR. EARL RAY DAVIS

Earl Ray Davis, age 85, of Owasso, Oklahoma, formerly of Sedan, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2001, at the Hill Crest Specialty City of Faith Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Earl was born November 19, 1915 in Sedan, Kansas to Herbert Albert and Florence (Kincaid) Davis. He attended schools in Sedan and the surrounding area. He married Anice Hollis on March 20, 1943 in Coffeyville, Kansas. He had many interesting jobs throughout his lifetime. He was Bugs Bunny on early radio and T.V, a circus clown, for many years he and Anice helped out with the Salvation Army and they also managed a big hotel in Kansas City, Kansas, just to name a few.

Earl is survived by his wife, Anice, Broken Arrow, OK, his two sisters, Flossie Dye, Havana, KS and Jeraldine Schmidt, Coffeyville, KS and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Wayne, and one sister, Maxine. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2001, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, OK. Reverend Jerry B. Baines officiated. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.

MR. H. BERT DAVIS

HUMBOLDT
The funeral of H. B. Davis, who died in a Chanute hospital Thursday evening. August 6, was held at Humboldt, Kansas, his former home, Sunday afternoon. His death followed a surgical operation performed in the vain hope of saving his life following a second stroke of paralysis. He was 49 years of age.

Mr. Davis had been superintendent of the Bruen oil properties here for the past fifteen years or more. His sociable inclination and likable character made him an unusually large number of warm friends in this community who were greatly grieved by his untimely death.

His funeral at the Methodist church in Humboldt at 2:30 Sunday afternoon had a large attendance from here and pall bearers active and honary were his intimate friends and associates. Active pall bearers were: Dewey Allen, Lee Brosius, W. M. Sproul. John Dalton, W. A. Dennis, Dean Floyd. Honorary pall bearers: James O’Neal Bruen, J. I. Stough, N. B. Wall, W. R. Graham, Clyde Denman and Harry Harshbarger. Those in attendance from here: Messrs. and Mesdames W. R. Graham, Dr. Earl Logsdon, W. A. Dennis, W. M. Sproul, Dewey Allen, J. I. Stough, John Dalton, Ray Nelson, D. R. Hawkins. Joe Weidner, Ray Wilson, N. B. Wall, J. N. Ervin, Geo. Meacham, Lee Brosius. Will Bruner, Mrs. Elba Hartzell, Messrs. Harry Stephenson, Floyd Wemmer, Ben Wemmer, Henry Fahle, Alva Burris, Tol Burris, Dale Cowell, Fred Chubb, Clyde Denman, Burn McGill, Harry Harshbarger, Harold Wall, Dean Floyd, Harry Harkrader,m Mr. and Mrs. Will Harman, Mr. and Mrs. W. Songs by the funeral choir were: “City Four Square,” “Old Rugged Cross,” “God Will Take Care of You.” Deceased is survived by his wife.

MR. LESLIE L. DAVIS SR.

SEDAN, Kan. - The spirit of Leslie Lyle Davis, Sr., 94, departed this earth to be with his Lord on Jan. 22, 2005. Although we will all miss him greatly, we have peace in the knowledge that he has now been reunited with our mom, his parents and many other family and friends who have gone before. Leslie was born on May 29, 1910 in Mulvane, Kan. to William G “Bob” and Addie Davis. His family later moved to Wichita, where he graduated from Wichita High School East and also attended Wichita Business College. Through his working years, he was employed as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, worked for Wichita Telephone Company, owned and operated his own lawn service, as well as the Wee Wash Laundry and was a stockman at Mr. D’s IGA. He was most recently employed by the Sedan High School as custodian and did laundry for the high school athletic department until the age of 83.

He married Mildred Murphy Aug. 22, 1931 and she passed away June 30, 1976.

Leslie’s faith was an important part of his existence. He has been a member of the Church of Christ all his life. As a young man, he preached for a small congregation in Peck, Kan. He was one of the charter members of the Northside Church of Christ and served as an elder for many years. Upon his retirement, he and his wife moved to Grenola for a short time and then purchased a home in Sedan. He ministered to the youth in these churches and was an example to all.

Leslie loved to go fishing and was an avid sports fan. He was a competitive ping-pong player in Wichita and took second place in the City Tournament one year. At one time, he sponsored and coached a boys Little League Baseball team. Upon his move to Sedan, where his oldest son is a coach, he became a loyal Blue Devils Booster Club member. He seldom missed a game the entire season and was known to several generations of kids as grandpa. He followed the Wichita State Shockers basketball teams and was a die hard Chicago Cubs fan.

Leslie was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, three sisters, Latishua Davis, Annie Jordan and Bernice Sellers, a brother, Quincy, two grandchildren, David Davis, Jr. and Lonnie Hull and one great granddaughter, Faith Cowles.

Survivors include three sons, Leslie Davis, Jr. and close friend, Mary Adams, Sedan, Kan., David Davis and wife, Dot, Sunrise Beach, Mo. and Howard Davis, Valley Center, Kan., two daughters, Joyce Hull and husband, Bill, Grenola, Kan. and Janice Davis, Clearwater, Kan., 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at the Sedan Church of Christ. A memorial has been established with the Sedan Church of Christ and Pleasant Valley Nursing Home.

MRS. MILDRED DAVIS

Mildred Una Davis, 92, of Winfield, died February 26, 2002, at William Newton Hospital.

She was, born July 7, 1909, in Augusta to Una Mary (Cloud) and Winfield Scott Crowley. The family moved to a farm near Atlanta, and she attended Atlanta and Burden schools. She received a teacher's certificate from Pittsburg State Teachers College and taught school in Cowley County for seven years.

On September 1, 1936, she married Gilbert F. Davis in Douglass. They farmed near Rock and Cambridge before moving to a farm west of Burden in the 1940s. In 1968 the couple moved to Winfield. Her husband died July 16, 1988.

Mrs. Davis was formerly affiliated with the Burden United Methodist Church and later a member of the Winfield Free Methodist Church where she held various offices. She was also a member of the Tisdale Women's Temperance Union.

Survivors include three daughters, Marolyn Lytle, Smith Center, Carolyn Daniels, Abilene, and Kathlyn Lady, Independence, Mo.; a sister, Velma Parish, Cambridge; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Tern Browning, Winfield.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Miles Funeral Service. Burial was in the Burden Cemetery.

A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

MRS. RUTH N. DAVIS

SEDAN, Kan. - Ruth Naomi Davis, 90, of Sedan, Kan., died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan. She was born March 3, 1915 at Boulanger, Okla. to William Robert and Mary Jane (King) Sears. She grew up in the Boulanger, Okla. area and Chautauqua County.

In 1930, she married Earl Edward Davis at Sedan. Following their marriage they made their home in Sedan, where Mr. Davis worked for Chautauqua County until he lost his eyesight in a dynamite explosion in 1936. They later owned and operated Davis Grocery Store in Sedan. In 1951, they moved to Wichita, where they made their home until returning to Sedan in 1975 following retirement. Mr. Davis preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 2005.

Mrs. Davis was a member of the Indian Hills Nazarene Church in Wichita.
Survivors include one daughter, Rose Ann Rainwater and her husband J.C., Burbank, Okla.; one sister, Annave Lee, Mannford, Okla.; three granddaughters; one great granddaughter, two great grandsons, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 18,2005, at Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, with Rev. Charles Kiassen of the First Baptist Church. David W. Barnes Funemi Home of Sedan was in charge of arrangements.

MR. CHARLES W. DAY, JR.

SEDAN - Charles Walter Day Jr., 83, of Sedan, Kan. passed away Monday, May 22, 2006, at his home in Sedan.

He was born Sep. 1, 1922 at home on the ranch in Stanley, NM to Charles W. Day Sr. and Enid (Fisher) Day. He attended elementary and High School at Stanley until he graduated in 1940. He dedicated the next few years supporting the war effort working at a Navy yard in California. He then attended Emmanuel Missionary College in Berrien Springs, Mich., where he graduated with a major in agriculture in 1950.

He married Leora Day in a double wedding they had with her sister, LaDell Kinder and his cousin, Russell Fisher, on June 27, 1948 in Vimta, OkLa. His daughter, Barbara Sue Day, was born in Hinsdalle, Ill, in 1950.

Charles and Leora then dedicated their life to serving the Seventh Day Adventist Church in various mission fields. His first assigmnent was to Costa Rica from 1951 to 1953 where he developed a poultry industry, a sugar cane industry, and a dairy where students could work to help pay their tuition. His son, Charles W. Day III, was born in San Jose, Costa Rica in 1952. They then continued to Mexico, where he spent 12 years developing various industries where students could work, which included a broom shop, a bakery, an orange orchard, and a dairy. Their last son, David Day, was born in Montemorelos, Mexico in 1959.

In 1967, Charles brought his family to Kansas so his children could attend schools in English and he could continue his education. He received his diploma for a masters in Agricultural Economics from Kansas State University in 1968. He then worked as a Business Manager for Enterprise Academy in Enterprise, Kan.

In the summer of 1971, he accepted a calling to start up new industries for the Adventist Mission College in Lima, Peru. He developed the second largest bakery in the country. Over the following few years he was asked to go to various cuntries to help establish and develop industries for students to earn their education. From Peru he was called to Ecuador, then Jamaica, and then back to Mexico.

After 32 years of service to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, he retired in Sedan, where he took over the Day Cattle Company with his brother, Joe Day, and sister, Dorothy Taylor.

Survivors include his wife, Leora (Kinder) Day, his daughter, Barbara Taylor, Indiana, his two sons, Charles III (Tom) Day, Sedan, and David Day, Texas, two grandchildren, April Silva, Indiana, and Daniel Taylor, Indiana, and his sister, Dorothy Taylor, Sedan.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 26, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Sedan Seventh Day Adventist Church. Visitation is 9-9 Thursday at David Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan.

MRS. NEVA E. DAY

SEDAN, Kan. - Neva Edna Day, 87, of Sedan, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003 at the Jane Phillips Hospital in Bartlesville, Okla. The funeral was held Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Kennard’s Funeral Home in Catoosa, Okla., with the final resting place being Dick Duck Cemetery in Catoosa.

She was born on May 11, 1916 in Catoosa, Okla. to Joseph Ellsworth Robbins, Jr. and Emily Grace (Cummins) Robbins.

On Sept. 12, 1936, she was married to Joseph Fisher Day in Keene, Texas. Survivors include one son, William Joe Day, Sedan, Kan., one daughter, Carlotta Munson, Sedan, Kan., grandchildren, Michelle Jensen, Auburn, Wash., Gina Ellis, Auburn Wash., Renee’ Day, Fremont, Calif., Stanley Schuett, Dallas, Texas, Gregory Schuett, Collinsville, Okla., Andrea Griggs, Sedan, Kan., six greatgrandchildren and sister, Grace Graham, San Diego, Calif. She was preceded in death by sisters Buena Andrews, Marjorie Barrett, Myrtle Day and brothers Guss Robbins and Myron Robbins.

Mrs. Day worked as a hospital ward clerk, laundry manager, seamstress, and homemaker. She was a member of the Tulsa Seventh-day Adventist Church.
